Margaret is a proud Shoalhaven resident of 45 years standing devoted to serving both her local and broader communities voluntarily. She was on the board of the Family Planning Association NSW and on various local management committees including DASInc, Shoalhaven Bushwalkers and Music Shoalhaven. Following a previous stint, Margaret returned to the Management Committee of Focas taking on the role of Treasurer in 2023.
Margaret has been a keen student firstly attaining a Bachelor of Arts majoring in French and Italian. This was followed by a Diploma in Librarianship and nearly a decade working in university libraries in Sydney. She then decided to retrain as a pharmacist returning to her alma mater Sydney University and acquiring a Bachelor of Pharmacy. Margaret went on to own and operate pharmacies in and around the Shoalhaven as well as working as a locum later in life.
Most importantly Margaret has lived experience of the disability care sector as the mother of a daughter with Down Syndrome. Margaret is passionate about ensuring people with disability live independent and meaningful lives within their communities and her daughter is testimony to that philosophy.
